How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience/WOD? A close friend of mine recommended CrossFit to me after listening to me complain about how boring I thought yoga and other group exercise classes were. I told her that they often left me enraged, but I lacked the skill and motivation to exercise alone. She said that from what she understood, CrossFit would leave me too exhausted to complain about much. She was right! My first actual CrossFit WOD after fundamentals was 7 minutes of burpees. It was the longest 7 minutes of my life. When did you first come to CrossFit NOLA? I wandered in the building one night last October as one of the classes was starting and spoke to Brandon, who encouraged me to watch his class. I stood there for an hour, amazed at what people were doing. It seemed like some crazy stuff, and I was intrigued! What CrossFit accomplishment are you the most proud of? I shock myself every time I do a pull up. I NEVER could have guessed that I would be able to do a pull up, let alone more than one! If there was any CrossFit movement that you could choose to never do again, what would it be? I know that this movement rarely comes up in CrossFit at all, but I can't accurately express how much I loathe sumo deadlifts. That powerlifting cycle was rough for me! After a hard workout what is your favorite meal? Definitely chicken thighs with sautéed dandelion greens, spiced cashews and four poached eggs, doused in Sriracha. Winner every time. On a Saturday night, where could we typically find you? I am usually at home with my six birds and poodle, Mango. They are great company! What is one goal you are currently working on that you will accomplish before the end of 2013? I want to do 100 burpees in 7 minutes. I think it is a mental thing, but I might want to wait until after summer to really tackle that goal! See more of our featured members here

Way to go Ivy!! I love your spirit -- especially setting a goal of 100 Burpees in 7 minutes!! Very few people would set out to do more Burpees!!
