Time to Set a Goal!

12/31/2011

Picture
It is time to set some goals for the new year.  Please comment on this post with a specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time-bound (S.M.A.R.T.) goal for 2012. This post will be tagged so we can easily look back to see who made their achievement!

It can be anything.  Good examples: get a 4 minute Fran by July, or run a half marathon in March.  Feel free to include as many as you can think of.   It does not have to be a CrossFit goal, but it does need to fit the SMART criteria.

We are looking forward to helping you get there!

There will be a burpee  penalty if you do not set a goal and comment on this post

Kyle E.

I will attain a dead lift at twice my body weight 360 lb., 100 consecutive double under's, maintain my 100% Paleo lifestyle (with a cheat meal in there every so often ;o), it's been 3 months strong so far) and make a success of my two new business ventures!

To drop weight to 215 before knee surgery in June and to be able to run again by December post-surgery. Also to get a muscle-up either before or after knee surgery. Graduate and get a job

Ha, love the burpee penalty edit.

I've never been good at recording my time for a WOD or recording what the WOD was (I know, unheard of, right?), and that's is something I want to change, starting today.

Vil

I'd like to lose weight/feel more fit, get 10 consecutive double unders and be able to do a pull up without a band by the end of 2012.

1) BALANCE: To remember where I have come from in 2011 with injury/surgery (injury was MVA related, not crossfit) and not be so zealous that I hurt myself and go backwards, but push myself enough to safely benefit forward without injury.
2) I am happy to have completed my Fundamentals in December 2011. Next goal: To stick with Crossfit for the whole year with 3 WODS weekly.
3) I know to say, "Get everyday normal person strong in my daily living (as if you never knew I was ever injured) first, then next goal to be crossfit strong is not a S.M.A.R.T. goal, but it is so meaningful to me with my rehabilitation that i must mention it.
4) To pass the NCLEX-RN state boards exam on JAN 19th.
5) To get a job as an RN.
6) For Crossfit to give me stamina to last 12 hour shifts turning and lifting patients!
7) To do an unassisted pullup. I have no idea how long that takes, so I do not know what timeline to put on this. (Hopefully this year!)
8) To learn double unders or whatever that jump rope term is called without tripping and falling on my face!
9) To learn Crossfit terminology. Fundamentals was a good start to them, but overwhelming. lol
10) To lose ten pounds, feel strong & fit before my 41st birthday on May 9! To always strive to be the best I can be at any age!

** Since I am new to crossfit, it was hard to figure out measurable goals, so I need help scaling and figuring out my timelines!

Make 3-4 classes every week I'm in town, stretch every time I go to class, supplement stretching at home, do a for real overhead squat by the end of the year.

Also, I'm gonna RX every workout I can safely RX (I've lowered weight a few times and regretted it afterwards recently, and also lowered weight and worked on form and was really happy about it. I'm trading ego for safety but pushing as hard as I can safely push).

Mollie-You would think you could find a more inspirational photo for us than Peter Rabbit!

January: Avoid all burpee penalties and string together 10 double unders.
February: Turn 44 and do 44 pushups in 44 seconds.
March: 10 toes-to-bar without the extra kip.
April: Complete all Open WODs Rx.
May: Muscle up
June: Complete a 5k+ race. Mud and obstacles optional and highly desirable.
July: Buttlerfly pullups
August: Front Squat 225#
September: Complete a pistol
October; Overhead squat 135#
November: Participate in a throw down or other fitness event to keep me motivated.
December: Get flexibility back in my hips and shoulders so I can consistently snatch squat 95# with good technique.

And a SMART goal with no time domain: Honor God by caring for my body and never taking for granted the health and abilities that He has blessed me with!
