Whole Life Challenge Prelims on September 7th

The Whole Life Challenge is an 8-week health and fitness challenge designed to turn you into a diggin' deep, nose-to-the-grindstone, what are you made of, no-crying-in-CrossFit, swinging for the fences master of your physical and mental destiny! 

- Entry Fee: $49 August 8th until the games Start Sept 7 (minus $5 with our unique community discount code, WLCRYGPEispW )

Friends & Family: may play along with you, but you must be registered first to invite them to join.

Challenge starts: Saturday, September 7th with a an event at CrossFit NOLA 504, The Prelims, get measured and do a workout!

The challenge winner will have to succeed in 3 areas:

Performance - Improve your work, improve your play
Body Transformation - Get lean & mean
Accountability - Play every day!

How the game is played:

You will be measured in the beginning and the end of the challenge to track your improvement - body and performance.

Every day you will be challenged to live by these rules, and can earn up to 11 points:

  • For Nutrition, you START the day with 5 points (how cool is that?), and subtract 1 point each time you eat a nutrition no-no. For example, if you decide to eat toast with your breakfast, that will cost you a point. Wine with dinner? Another point. Your score is the number of points (out of 5) you’re left with at the end of the day.
  • For Exercise, you’ll earn 2 points each day for doing ANY kind of exercise - from a hard core monster workout to running or yoga, or even active recovery like biking around town or playing Frisbee on the beach with friends. If YOU say it was “exercise” for you, then it counts!
  • For Mobilization, you’ll earn 2 points each day when you do at least 10 minutes of stretching or mobilizing. You can do any type you like - even a yoga class counts. No massage, though... you gotta do this one yourself!
  • For Supplements, you’ll earn 1 point each day for taking the supplement of your choice. This one’s up to you, but it’s gotta be the same one every day. We like supplements like fish oil, vitamin D, probiotics, magnesium, and B-12. But really, it’s up to you.
  • In the Lifestyle category, you’ll earn 1 point each day for taking on the current lifestyle practice. These rotate over the course of the Challenge. Don’t worry, we’ll warn you! This category includes things like sleep, meditation, water, etc.
Every day by 11:59 PM you will log into the score board and report how you did the previous day. You only have until 11:59  each day, after that you will receive a 0 for the day before, so make it a habit!

All participants in the challenge will receive:

+ Access to the Whole Life Challenge WORLDWIDE online scoreboard

+ Access to a Whole Life Challenge blog with coaching, support, recipes and videos

+ Access to the Whole Life Challenge discussion forums for getting together with other participants to trade experiences, successes, breakdowns, tips, "cheats" and to lend and give support.

+ A post-challenge party & celebration!

Signed up and can't wait to participate. Does anyone know of any teams going to the Spartan Race in Mississippi this October - I would love to change my registration and be on the team - just need to know the theam name and captain if anyone know this information - thanks!

How does the friend and family thing work? Do they have to be members of CFNOLA?

No, they do not! They can come to the Prelims, and the Finals if they want to, but do not need to be members. You can create a team and invite friends and family to join your team. For example, my mom plays every challenge on her own from Michigan. She works out on her own and follows the nutrition rules.

I'm signed up and part of the community, but I don't know where to go/when for the Prelims. Am I supposed to get a registration email with explanation?

You are not required to come to the prelims, but You are welcome to.

They will be at 10 AM at 540 North Cortez on Saturday, September 7.

If you come, we will take your measurements, and put you through the workout. If you choose not to come, you are responsible for measuring yourself, and doing a baseline work out on your own
