How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience/WOD?
My husband's (at the time boyfriend's) family started Crossfit in Houston back in 2012. I saw them a few months into their new regime and was amazed at how toned they looked, in particular his sister's shoulders. My first WOD after Fundamentals was a Saturday morning long chipper that involved at least 4 movements in teams of three including A LOT of wallballs. I was put in a team with two experienced guys and they were really supportive of me doing my equal share of movements, even if it drastically slowed our time down; that was cool. They told me afterwards I was nuts for doing a Saturday morning workout as my first WOD.

When did you first come to CrossFit NOLA?
April 2013

How many days do you CrossFit? What classes do you normally take (times and specialties)?
5-6 days a week. My normal times are weekday WODs at 7 pm and the Saturday morning WOD. I've never tried a specialty class, The really loud noises I hear coming from some of those classes scare me.

What motivates you/keeps you coming back to CrossFit NOLA?
At this point, its just become part of my standard after work routine, so I guess I'm more addicted than motivated. As for Crossfit NOLA, I like that we have coaches who compete in the sport at a high level, but can coach members at all different levels. Some gyms I've been to seem to be above-average crossfitters  coaching other above-average crossfitters. I once went to a gym in California that didn't even have wallballs below the RX weight, what's the point?

Favorite thing about New Orleans?
The festivals

What  accomplishment are you the most proud of?
Spending a year in Israel on my own and learning Hebrew.

After a hard workout, what is your favorite meal?
Sushi

What are some of your interests outside of CrossFit?
I love theater. I've been performing in shows since I was a kid, and perform in some local productions when I have time (which is rare). I still try to see as much local theater as possible. Outside of that, I'm open to almost anything as long as it's of quality and interesting. Some things come to mind are: motorcycle riding (RIP my motorcycle), festivals, traveling, math, and big fluffy cats.

What do you do for a living?
My job seems to be this enigma to many folks, so I'll do my best to explain. I work for a company called Synche Enterprises. We design and manufacture products for the smoke shop industry, which has become a much more interesting industry in the last two years. I'm a Project Manager, so I'm involved with product design, marketing, and cost analysis. Plus, I get to go on routine trips to Colorado for trade shows and events like 'Cannabis Cup'. #legalize

What is one goal that you are currently working on?
I really want to do a muscle up. I'm not sure if I'm currently "working on it" besides doing pull-ups everyday.

Will you be competing in the CrossFit Open?
I don't think so. I'll do the workouts, but I don't see the need to officially sign up. If someone wants to make a case otherwise, feel free...
